Dr Sean Mc Brinn graduated in Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeon’s in Ireland in 1998, he completed the South East General Practice Training Programme and Membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners(MICGP) in 2002.
Prior to his medical studies he studied Biochemistry at Trinity College Dublin and in 1994 Dr McBrinn completed a PhD in Clinical Medicine, on Cholesterol Metabolism in Diabetes.
He has an interest in collaborating with medical and scientific research and is currently involved with various research groups in the South East and nationally.
He has further qualifications in Occupational Medicine (LFOM – Licentiate of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine), and a special interest in Medical Certification in General Practice and has written a dissertation on this important issue. He has been appointed to the medical advisory board of ‘RelateCare’ a global leader in patient access and patient engagement solutions.
Dr Mc Brinn offers Occupational Health services to a number of international firms and to small and medium sized businesses in the South East. He works with employers to provide a safe working environment, enhancing the physical and mental wellbeing of their employees, and helping employers to meet their legislative Health & Safety obligations for all their staff.
Dr Mc Brinn has completed a Diploma in Child Health following training in paediatric medicine in Waterford Regional Hospital.
Dr McBrinn has a special interest in Sports Medicine and currently acts as Medical Officer to Waterpark Rugby Club since 2004 and Roanmore Hurling Club for over 10 years.
He is also very involved in health promotion and awareness and has been involved with the award winning DVD on alcohol awareness – ‘Under the Influence’ at Waterford Institute of Technology. He is actively involved in the ICGP Faculty and continuous medical education of GP’s in Waterford.
