Dr Sharon O’Donnell qualified in Medicine from University College Dublin in 1992 and started her career working in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for many years. While working in Dublin’s Rotunda Hospital she completed her Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland (MRCOG, MRCPI).
She then proceeded onto a career in General Practice. She has worked in the Waterford Medical Centre and since 1999 with a very special interest in pregnancy, antenatal and postnatal care, women’s sexual health including contraception and fertility issues, the menopause, genito-urinary medicine and child health.
Dr O’Donnell is also fully trained in minor surgical techniques for removal of lumps and moles, providing a full range of minor surgical procedures in the Waterford Medical Centre.
Since 1999 she has worked in student health and is very familiar with adolescent and young adult health issues. Like all the doctors and staff in the Waterford Medical Centre, Dr O’Donnell is continuously updating her skills through further education and training.
