How to register as a student with the Waterford Medical Centre
We welcome students from SETU provide dedicated student appointments at the Waterford Medical Centre in Kilbarry Shopping Centre.
View our location mapIf you hold a current medical card or doctor visit only card,from outside the Waterford area attendance at the Waterford Medical Centre is free as with your own GP. Students aged 23 years and over may apply for a Medical Card as a Mature Student Status, this application to the HSE is means tested.
Students who do not hold a current Medical Card are more than welcome to attend the Waterford Medical Centre at a discount student rate of 35 with a valid student identification card.
Some procedures and special services such as travel vaccinations/cryotherapy may incur an extra charge.
If a doctor is required outside of the hours of 9.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday and on Weekends and Bank Holidays contact CareDoc Tel: (0818) 300 365. This service is free with a Medical Card or Doctor Visit only card, without these cards an appointment will incur a payment as per the doctor on duty.
